Gary Soto Biography
Gary Soto works are primarily based off his own experiences. He owes much of his sucessful writing to his childhood and teenage years as a Mexican-American in a Chicano district of California. Gary Soto reflects the adversities of his poverty and ethnicity throughout his youth. He has written many novels, poems, and short stories that add to the collection of his work. Gary Soto was the youngest Ameican poet to have his work in the Norton Anthology of Modern Poetry.

i think that it could play a part in them not having a better life. but they could also make it better themselves. they should try harder to make it better. but the one thing that they are young mexican men doesnt necissarly help them out. they could just be having a difficult time.
I think its because they dont try hard enough to do something for once and also because they dont believe in themselves that much. What is a better life anyway no one canget a high paying job where they live and if Jesse only finshed his education he might've gotten a slight chanceto a better future.
I think its beacuse Jsse and his brother doesnt try hard enough to get up and do something for once. They dont have a better ife beacuse Jesse didnt finish his education, if he did he might have gotten a chanced to a brighter future and help his family as well.
If this was in reallife I think when someone else in their position is reading this they will do something and acually make a difference in their life.
