Gary Soto Biography
Gary Soto works are primarily based off his own experiences. He owes much of his sucessful writing to his childhood and teenage years as a Mexican-American in a Chicano district of California. Gary Soto reflects the adversities of his poverty and ethnicity throughout his youth. He has written many novels, poems, and short stories that add to the collection of his work. Gary Soto was the youngest Ameican poet to have his work in the Norton Anthology of Modern Poetry.

i think that i probably would have handle it all the same way as the brothers did. i would still want nothing to do of my fathers beatin life, messing it up. i would have handle it all the same and wished that it would be over soon. for i would never want to have a father that does not care.
